Fargo
What a week this is... we are thrashing
like mad to get the new car ready for the coming
two-day race weekend. Almost there, but still will
need to put in a couple more long nights.
Fargo went OK last weekend. We
are still learning the track (and trying to remember
big-track racing). We finished 6th in the make-up
A main. A complete program followed for this week's
racing. We took home a 4th in the heat and a so-so
feeling 10th in the feature. Tony Norem blistered
the track for the make-up feature win. Loren Langerud
dusted the competition in winning the last feature.
22 cars made the trip to Fargo, continuing the streak
of good car counts at the Wissota Sprint events.
Next up is the Earl Kouba Memorial
this Friday, May 10, in Princeton, MN. This should
be a good event as I understand it pays $1,600 to
win this year. Plus there will be a "dash for
cash" providing a little extra to the overall
purse. On top of that the winners get their name
engraved on the ECK Memorial plaque which is displayed
at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. A pretty
neat deal all in all. Can the defending 2-time winner
make it 3-in-a-row? The odds are slim, but we'll
be giving it our best shot.
From Princeton, we make our way
to Brainerd on Saturday for the first of many appearances
there.
Well enough for now (bed is calling
me big-time).
Keep the rubber side down,
Jimmy
